ABOUT

ABOUT THE FUND

The Long COVID Research Fund supports high-quality research grants seeking to identify the biological causes of Long COVID, and to identify effective treatments for Long COVID. We seek to fund innovative research projects from researchers who understand the urgency of the global problem we are trying to address. Our grant application process is open to researchers from around the world. All grant applications will be reviewed by the Long COVID Research Fund Advisory Board, which includes leading Long COVID patient advocates, clinicians and researchers.

The Long COVID Research Fund is a project of Dysautonomia International, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in New York, with a global scope. Founded in 2012, Dysautonomia International is the leading global patient advocacy organization that advocates for over 70 million people living with autonomic nervous system disorders, which are collectively known as dysautonomia. Many forms of dysautonomia can be triggered by viruses, similar to Long COVID, and recent research confirms that dysautonomia is one of the major manifestations of Long COVID, occurring in a majority of Long COVID patients.

Since the pandemic started, Dysautonomia International has received millions of dollars in grant applications from researchers seeking to study dysautonomia and other manifestations of Long COVID. Realizing there is a need for a dedicated fund committed entirely to supporting Long COVID research, Dysautonomia International's Board of Directors created the Long COVID Research Fund in 2021.

We welcome donations from individuals, businesses, foundations and other non-profits that are interested in supporting high-quality Long COVID research. We also welcome the opportunity to partner with individuals and organizations interested in facilitating Long COVID research.
